Chinese automotive firm BYD has recently announced its investment plans in a new industrial complex in Northeastern Brazil. The investment is estimated to be around 3 billion reals ($620 million), with the aim to boost local production to offer competitive prices. The firm stated that the complex, made up of three plants, will be built in the Camacari industrial park in the northeastern state of Bahia, on land formerly occupied by a Ford plant that closed in 2021. The Department of Energy (DOE) of the Philippines was able to generate 3,580.76 Megawatt (MW) of committed renewable energy capacities under the second round of the Green Energy Auction Programme (GEAP), which would be delivered between 2024 to 2026. Japanese renewable energy company Renova Inc has signed a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) to supply renewable power to local petroleum products manufacturer and distributor Suzuyo Shoji Co. Ltd. As per the agreement, Renova will supply electricity derived from new solar power plants, to be developed by the firm. The solar photovoltaic (PV) plants will have a total capacity of 1 MW (Megawatt).
