China has come up with an exclusive development in utilising solid hydrogen for electricity generation as China Southern Power Grid’s two hydrogen power stations are connected to the grid, recently. Out of the two stations, one of the stations, Nansha Smart Hydrogen Station, located in Guangzhou City, south China’s Guangdong Province, contains seven advanced solid hydrogen storage facilities. The other hydrogen power station, located in Kunming City, southwest China’s Yunnan Province, has already stored 165 kilograms of hydrogen power.Around 2.300 KW hours of electricity, during peak hours, can be supplied by this hydrogen storage and it can generate power continuously for 23…
China’s market for green hydrogen equipment (electrolyser) is estimated to be 50 billion yuan by 2028, that is expected to grow about 20 times in next five years due to the plunging costs of the clean energy source plunge, according to a CICC report. The report revealed that this will be achieved when domestic demand for the equipment will reach 40 gigawatts and green hydrogen production is likely to top 4 million tons. It pointed out further that the new method of extracting hydrogen (zero emission fuel) from water using renewable energy zero-emissions fuel is gaining momentum that will cut…
The agreement with PT PLN Batam and PR Trisurya Midtra Bersama for the development of solar energy and energy storage in Indonesia has been terminated by Singapore’s Sembcorp Industries. The Joint Development Agreement was signed in October 2021, which was aimed at developing a large scale integrated solar and energy storage project in Indonesia’s Batam, Bintan and Karimun (BBK) region. Had it been implemented, the project would have supported around 1,000 direct and indirect jobs in Indonesia and Singapore during its construction. As per the JDA,there were plans for solar power generation capability of around 1 gigawatt-peak (GWp).It was aimed…
Indonesia has the potential to install 450 MW of wind capacity between 2023-2027 , said Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC). However, there are possibilities for Indonesia to cross this capacity and could add 550 MW capacity, if deployment is accelerated and barriers are removed. Elaborating on the challenges, the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) said the challenges faced by Indonesia include barriers to policy frameworks, transmission infrastructure and permitting schemes. Presently, it has 150 MW of installed onshore wind capacity. It further cited the inadequate project screening in Indonesia as projects can secure offtake deals without having to show permitting, feasibility…
