Baker Hughes, an American international industrial service company, which is also among the world’s largest oil field services firms, has joined forces with Petronas, a Malaysian oil and gas company through an MoU. The agreement will pave the way for partnership between the two firms on industrial and oil and gas AI technologies. The partnership has been established to facilitate the energy sustainability goals of Petronas. The agreement was signed at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference 2022.
“The complex challenges of the energy transition require new forms of collaboration. Digital technologies will be an important part of the answer in driving efficiency, safety and performance on industrial assets. This collaboration with Petronas marks a step forward in our growth strategy to provide differentiated solutions for industrial assets,” said Judit Prieto, Vice President, Industrial Asset Management, Baker Hughes.
Aadrin Azly, Chief Digital Officer, Petronas added, “With the culmination of this MoU signing, we are excited for greater achievements in our AI journey as we join forces in understanding customers’ needs and uncovering significant outcomes across key areas such as operational resilience, human safety and energy sustainability.”
Petrona said that its AI Centre of Excellence will further enable and mature Artificial Intelligence as a component of its digital journey, which will further enable improvements in the areas of oil and gas productivity, cleaner, efficient energy solutions.
