Citicore Renewable Energy Corporation (CREC) has signed a contract with Trinasolar to supply two gigawatts of solar modules. This contract supports CREC’s plan to expand renewable energy production in the Philippines. CREC aims to reach a total of five gigawatts of renewable energy capacity within the next five years.
Under the agreement, Trinasolar will provide CREC with its Vertex N 720W Series solar modules. These high-capacity modules will be used for new solar projects that will add two gigawatts to CREC’s renewable energy capacity.
This contract builds on an existing relationship between CREC and Trinasolar. Previously, Trinasolar supplied solar modules for CREC’s first gigawatt of renewable capacity, which is nearing completion. According to CREC President and CEO Oliver Tan, this new supply deal will help the company move forward with its plans to develop additional solar projects in the Philippines.
Tan emphasized that the partnership between CREC and Trinasolar now covers a total of three gigawatts in solar module supply. He stated, “this expanded agreement demonstrates both companies’ shared focus on creating renewable energy solutions for the Philippines. CREC’s goal is to contribute to the country’s energy needs through clean, sustainable power sources”.
CREC’s expansion plans aim to support the Philippines’ transition to renewable energy sources. By increasing its solar energy capacity, CREC plans to make a long-term impact on the country’s energy sector. This supply agreement with Trinasolar is a step toward achieving CREC’s goal of a more sustainable energy infrastructure in the Philippines.
