At the corporate offices of United E & P Pte. Ltd. at First Lok Yang Road in Singapore, two rooftop solar PV systems with a combined system capacity of 755 kWp have been powered up by Cleantech Solar, a provider of renewable energy solutions to businesses in Southeast Asia and India.
One of the main one-stop suppliers of building supplies and asphalt premix to the regional construction sector in Singapore is United E & P. It is anticipated that the long-term solar cooperation between Cleantech Solar and United E & P will produce about 14 GWh of clean energy throughout the project, resulting in a decrease of almost 6 kilotonnes of CO2 emissions.
As the financier, designer, and builder of the system, Cleantech Solar is the turnkey solar solution provider for this project. Throughout the contract, Cleantech Solar will also operate and maintain the system.
Elvin Koh, CEO of United E & P Pte. Ltd., said, “In these unprecedented times as the cost of operations continues to rise, we are happy to have partnered with Shell and Cleantech to help us drive cost efficiency and leading us through this decarbonization journey and in support to Singapore’s green plan 2030.”
Raju Shukla, the Founder and CEO of Cleantech Solar stated, “The world-class solar solution will enable the utilisation of unused roof space as a clean energy generating asset and that, through the project, United E & P can benefit from cost-savings on energy, supply stability, and long-term energy security, as well as reducing their carbon emissions significantly. This will in turn contribute to the Singapore Green Plan 2030, advancing Singapore’s natural environment.”
Earlier, Cleantech Solar commissioned a 1 MW on-site rooftop solar PV system at the manufacturing facility of Senior Aerospace Thailand in Laem Chabang. The project provides solar power to Senior Aerospace under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), signed between Senior Aerospace (Thailand) Ltd & Cleantech Solar, a provider of renewable energy solutions to corporations in Southeast Asia and India.
