Essentra Components, a provider of essentail components and solutions in Thailand has installed 6,000m2 solar array at its manufacturing site in Rayong, Thailand.
In its statement, the firm informed that it is a part of its commitment to achieve net zero by 2040 in line with future ESG targets. “The newly completed installation will ultimately generate up to 824kW of energy, providing the facility with up to 20% of its annual electricity requirements and supporting its global manufacturing operations in South-East Asia,” the statement noted.
With the commitment towards achieving net zero emissions in its operations by 2040, in recent years, the company’s direct emissions have lowered by 27% and emissions intensity by 35%.
“The new solar array is a key part of achieving the goal of emissions reduction target. This project will avoid the generation of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) by over 450 tonnes of CO2e each year,” the company stated.
Jennifer Spence, Head of Sustainability strategy at Essentra PLC, was quoted in a statement, “Every good business is now focused on how it can become more energy independent and reduce its emissions, and, as rising energy prices are accelerating, the transition to renewable energy.
