HSS Engineering Sdn Bhd (HSSE), an arm of HSS Engineers Berhad (HSS), which is an engineering and project management firm, in partnership[ with Shizen International Inc, Solarvest Asset Management Sdn Bhd, and Aziho Trading Sdn Bhd, has got a Letter of Notification from the Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga). This notification will pave the path for the development of 29.99 MW Solar PV Plant in Kedah in Malaysia.
HSSE boasts of a 10% stake in the Consortium. The project looks into the development, financing, construction, ownership, operation, and maintenance of the solar plant on a BOOT (build, operate, and transfer basis). The Commercial Operation Date for the solar project is slated to be December 2025.
HSSE will look into the Engineering Design and Project Management Services for the venture. The project will see the signing of a VPPA (Virtual Power Purchase Agreement) with a corporate consumer dedicated to purchase virtual solar energy for a period of 20 years, as well as approval from the Suruhanjaya Tenaga for the Consortium’s application.
Earlier, HSS entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Shizen, for the exploration of solar projects boasting of an aggregate capacity of up to 250 MW in a period of three years.
