China’s Huasun Energy signed a deal with Malaysia’s largest solar power developer ITRAMAS Corporation Sdn.Bhd.to develop 1.5 GW solar projects in Malaysia. It announced the pact at the International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition and Conference Malaysia (IGEM) 2024.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Huasun and ITRAMAS in the presence of YB Tuan Mohd Rafizi Bin Ramli, Minister of Economic Affairs of Malaysia. As per the agreement, from 2025, Huasun will supply megascale solar plants with the state-of-the-art 700W+ heterojunction (HJT) solar modules to ITRAMAS.
The partnership is expected to expand the supply chain of solar power in Malaysia and introduce the most up-to-date photovoltaic technologies into the country and, by extension, the broader ASEAN region.
In July 2023, the Malaysian government announced the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR). The roadmap stated that by 2050, the nation’s energy would be sourced from renewable sources to the tune of 70%, and of these 58% will come from solar energy. Huasun and ITRAMAS are in sync with this vision and want to help Malaysia achieve its energy transition goals.
ITRAMAS currently operates over 200 MW of solar power projects and has another 1.5 GW under development. It is skilled in the fields of renewable energy, engineering, and infrastructure development with a focus on green solutions.
The global leader in terms of HJT product production, Huasun Energy has a capacity of 20 GW. Huasun has supplied more than 7 GW of HJT modules to over 40 countries. Huasun devotes itself to developing clean energy development more efficiently through the continuous innovation and growth aligned with global sustainability goals.
