In a move towards fostering sustainability in the pharmaceutical sector, a strategic collaboration has been formed between PT Ineco Solar Solutions (“Inecosolar”), a subsidiary of Yinson Renewables, and PT Finusolprima Farma Internasional (“Finusolprima”), a key entity of PT Kalbe Farma Tbk.
The primary objective of this partnership is to implement an advanced 264 kWp rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) system at Finusolprima’s factory in Bekasi, marking a pioneering move towards adopting clean energy.
This strategic collaboration emphasizes Inecosolar’s position as a leading Energy as a Service (EaaS) provider and Finusolprima’s commitment to environmental stewardship. In an industry grappling with sustainability challenges, this alliance sets a new benchmark for responsible business practices.
The rooftop solar PV solution is expected to prevent approximately 250 tonnes of carbon emissions annually upon completion. This will contribute to about 5% of the factory’s electricity requirements, significantly reducing Finusolprima’s environmental footprint.
Benoît Prim, Managing Director of Inecosolar, highlighted the company’s commitment to supporting Indonesia’s renewable energy targets, stating, “At Inecosolar, we are enthusiastic about assisting businesses and communities in Indonesia in lowering their carbon footprint and operating more efficiently and sustainably.”
“This collaboration aligns with government objectives while showcasing Inecosolar’s innovative business model, providing Finusolprima with a comprehensive package covering financing, construction, operation, and maintenance without any upfront costs,” he noted.
This project marks Inecosolar’s second rooftop solar PV initiative, following the agreement with Lazada Indonesia in September 2023. The first project, nearing completion, involves installing a 396 kWp solar panel system at Lazada’s facility in Cimanggis, West Java, with an estimated annual generation of over 555 MWh, avoiding approximately 400 tonnes of carbon emissions.
The collaboration between Inecosolar and Finusolprima targets promoting sustainable practices. As both companies work together to harness the potential of solar energy, they make significant contributions to the Indonesian Government’s ambitious target of achieving a 23% renewable energy mix by 2025.
It is hoped that this partnership will help in integrating clean energy solutions into the corporate landscape, demonstrating that environmental responsibility and business growth can coexist. On completion, the Bekasi factory will be an example of how industry leaders can lead the way towards a more sustainable and resilient future.
