NovaWind JSC and representatives of An Xuan Energy JSC have signed an agreement on cooperation in the implementation of a project for the construction of a wind farm. NovaWind JSC is a division of Rosatom State Corporation for wind energy generation based in Moscow, Russia. The company was founded in 2017.
The official statement revealed that the agreement is aimed at organizing cooperation within the framework of the construction of a 128 MW wind farm in the Vietnamese province of Son La, located in the north-west of the country. The pact was signed by Nguyen Quang Luan, CEO of An Xuan Energy, and Grigory Nazarov, CEO of NovaWind JSC.
Grigory Nazarov commented on the agreement, “We have gained extensive experience as a developer of wind energy projects in Russia and are ready to apply our competencies abroad. Rosatom is already implementing a number of projects in Vietnam in the field of energy and science, and now these areas of cooperation are expanding.”
He added, “The development of wind energy will not only contribute to ensuring energy security and industrialization of the region, but also accelerate the transition to an energy model that meets the goals of sustainable development,”.
Nguyen Quang Luan, said, “We are very pleased to sign a cooperation agreement with NovaVind, the wind energy division of Rosatom Corporation, on the construction of a wind farm in Son La Province. This project will bring socio-economic benefits to Vietnam, the national energy system and the population of the province. In cooperation with NovaVind, we intend to ensure the commercial operation of the facility on schedule.”
NovaWind primarily focuses on the management of all Rosatom’s competencies in wind energy. The company designs, constructs, engineers and operates its parent company’s wind farms. So far it has commissioned 720 MW of wind power projects. Rosatom has to operate wind farms with a total capacity of 1.7 GW by 2027.
