The Suez Canal Economic Zone’s (SCZONE) delegation to China held meetings with major international firms dealing in clean energy, digital solutions and the automotive industry in Hong Kong.
The delegation also met with eminent officials associated with the Hong Kong Investment Authority, members of the Environmental Business Council and regional players in the field of clean energy. The statement said that the meetings were held especially in light of the Egyptian state approving special incentives for the green economy and the presence of economic zones with the package of benefits it offers to many sectors. Moreover,the strategic location also allows it to be a regional centre for this industry with the easy availability of renewable energy sources required to produce this type of fuel. The meeting highlighted the major global partnerships signed by the SCZONE in this regard, amounting to about 23 memorandums of understanding, including 9 framework agreements for the production of green fuel and supplying ships with it.
The delegation also met with representatives of Asia One Company, one of the Legan Group companies specialised in the manufacture of data centres and related digital services, where SCZONE Chairperson Walid Gamal El-Din said, “The data centres are one of the most important sectors to be located within the economic zone, as the Technology Valley east of Ismailia will soon receive projects in this sector.”
The delegation also met representatives of Cyberport, a leading government company in the digital technology industry in Hong Kong.
The discussion were also held with the representatives of Swire Limited Group, which specialises in maritime transport, with two giant ships working in the field of installing and maintaining offshore wind farms.
