Vietnam has made a significant stride in the sector of renewable energy sector with the construction of its largest onshore wind turbine by diameter in the Vietnamese market to date. This also marks a momentous step towards sustainable power generation.
To this end, Chinese onshore wind power equipment manufacturer, Electric Wind Power, a subsidiary of Shanghai Electric, has sealed a pivotal agreement to supply cutting-edge wind turbines for the Hai Anh Wind Farm Project in partnership with Hai Anh Wind Power Company, IPC Construction Joint Stock Company (IPC E&C), and Asia Industrial Technology Joint Stock Company (ACIT).
The project is situated in Quang Tri Province, the Hai Anh Wind Farm Project will feature Electric Wind Power’s WH5.25-172 wind turbine unit, boasting the widest diameter among onshore turbines in Vietnam. It is spread over an expansive area of 855.25 hectares and the project will house turbines with a total installed capacity of 40 MW. Notably, with a hub center height towering at 125 meters, it represents Electric Wind Power’s most formidable onshore endeavor globally, showcasing both the largest single-machine capacity and the tallest hub center height across its projects worldwide.
The initiative holds promise for accelerating the transition towards green energy across Southeast Asia. By leveraging advanced technology and a robust network, Electric Wind Power aims to spearhead the adoption of eco-friendly and low-carbon energy solutions on a global scale.
As per the firm, the key components for the Hai Anh Wind Farm Project are slated for delivery by the end of March 2024, with the initial batch set to arrive in early June 2024. As Vietnam charts its course towards sustainable development, endeavors such as the Hai Anh Wind Farm underscore the nation’s commitment to harnessing renewable resources for a cleaner and more sustainable future.
