VinFast, the Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer, has taken a significant step forward in its global expansion efforts by finalizing a dealer sales agreement with Bahwan Automobiles Trading LLC (BAT) to distribute electric vehicles in Oman.
This pivotal agreement signifies VinFast’s strategic entry into the Middle East market, highlighting the company’s commitment to fostering sustainable mobility solutions worldwide.
As per the agreement, BAT assumes the role of VinFast’s official dealer in Oman, tasked with spearheading the distribution and servicing of VinFast electric vehicles across the country. Within the course of 2024 to 2027, BAT aims to establish and operate a network of 13 VinFast stores and service centers throughout Oman, with the inaugural store slated to open its doors in mid-2024, marking the commencement of vehicle sales shortly thereafter.
The collaboration between VinFast and BAT extends to the offering of four distinct e-SUV models – VF 6, VF 7, VF 8, and VF 9 – upon their market launch, providing Omani consumers with a diverse range of electric vehicle options.
As per the firm, this agreement builds upon the Memorandum of Understanding signed by VinFast and BAT during the United Nations Climate Change Conference 2023 (COP 28) held in the United Arab Emirates, showing their shared commitment to advancing green mobility solutions in the Middle East region.
It may be noted that both companies are optimistic about the growth potential of the electric vehicle market in Oman, with impetus provided by the government initiatives, aimed at promoting sustainability and reducing carbon emissions. VinFast, a member of Vingroup, boasts of a state-of-the-art automotive manufacturing complex in Hai Phong, Vietnam, characterized by its high degree of automation, reaching up to 90 percent. Through this collaboration with BAT, VinFast aims to not only establish a strong foothold in the Oman market but also contribute significantly to the global transition towards sustainable transportation solutions.
