Singapore based YTL Power Seraya has set sights on the expansion of the Pulau Seraya Power Station’s solar system by integrating an additional 4 MWp capacity. With a view to augment the capacity, the firm will make an investment that exceeds S$5million.
The expansion project is expected to reach completion in September next year. It is said to generate 417 MWh of electricity every month. This is enough to power close to 1,103 four-room HDB flats for a month.
The current system has 1MWp capacity and was set up in 2019. The addition will augment the capacity to 5 MWp. This will bring YTL Power Seraya cumulative investment outlay in solar power will be well above the S$6mil mark with this announcement.
Singapore has set itself the ambition of deploying 2 gigawatt-peak of solar energy by the end of the decade.
